Did you miss the application date to the universities? You are still on time!

When you apply to college during your senior year of high school, you have until January 1 for regular admissions. Once you apply, you will generally receive a response before April. Students who want to know before this date can apply earlier, more often before November 1, and can receive news in January or February whether they have been accepted. More than 450 universities allow students to apply as "early action" or "early decision" candidates.

If for some reason, you did not reach the first deadline for the application to the university, and you still want to submit your application, you can apply to a “regular decision” which is the name that the university gives to its final deadline unless that these have a "rolling admission" which means that they accept applications all year round and can give you an answer of the term to which you want to apply.

Now, why is there so much emphasis on the November 1 deadline? Simple, applying to the school of your choice is quite difficult without worrying about missing the deadline, each university has different deadlines. The date of November 1 can be considered as a “global” date, and you can know a few months before the decision of the admissions department, but not only that:

Early Actions are non-binding, which means that you will not be required to enroll in the schools to which you are accepted. Therefore, you can apply to as many early action schools as you want.

Also, if you are not accepted in early action, your application will likely defer to the normal decision group and be evaluated once more. Admission rates for early action are higher than for early and regular decision programs. By applying to early action, you will show a serious interest, much appreciated by the university of your choice.

But you also have its cons:

These admissions applicants usually have a very high average (both in standardized tests and in school average), which would not allow students to improve their scores.
