Take the leap and study where you always dreamed of
We want to tell you the story of one of our success stories and what better than doing it from his own point of view? His name is Ricardo and this is the story of his journey towards the adventure of studying abroad:
“I grew up in Colombia, and like any young dreamer and adventurer, I aspired to great things. One of my dreams was to study and live abroad.
Since in my country the economy is not the best, to be hired by a good company you must have a degree and experience, and on top of that you don't even feel safe to walk back home, that's why I decided that I had to fly with my own wings and explore the world.
Also, I thought it would be an opportunity to meet new cultures, different people and live the adventure of a lifetime.
Canada and Europe have always caught my attention, so I decided on the latter: Canada in the city of Winnipeg.
But of course I was worried about many doubts: Would I do well? Would I understand the classes? Would I endure the winter? Would I get used to a different culture? And just at that moment I met Misstudy.
From the beginning Misstudy inspired us a lot of confidence, the fact of being able to speak with the advisor, his way of working and functioning caught my attention.
I received great support to gain the confidence I needed and overcome all my fears and insecurities. I got a lot of information, advice, and they explained everything I needed to adapt little by little, without failing to encourage me that I could do it.
So I launched into the adventure and began my studies in Science and Microbiology at the University of Manitoba, and I am very satisfied.
An anecdote that I will never forget: I had just arrived, I was walking around the campus, and I was very cold. Suddenly, a young man approached me to ask me if I was new, and when I said yes, he gave me advice on what I had to do at university, which was essential to be able to adapt better, he even told me where I could get more warm clothes to feel more comfortable with the weather, I am still very grateful to that person.
Now I feel very happy to be here, I love the city of Winnipeg, its people, its landscapes and its university atmosphere, everything is very inspiring.
There is also incredible security, I can go everywhere without any fear. Every day I find a new reason to want to stay in Canada.
I thank Misstudy, and my parents, who from the beginning supported my dreams, and continue to accompany me on this great adventure.”
